Materials Testing
The chemistry of every job/lot is checked in a spectrometer to ensure that all parts conform to their specification.
The physical/mechanical properties are determined by pulling a test bar coupon on a tensile test machine. The machine measures the amount of force that is required to break the test bar.
These results are often cross examined through hardness (HRC) testing.
